Methven is a small town nestled in the Canterbury foothills of the South Island, New Zealand. In Winter, Methven is known as a sports town because of its proximity to Mount Hutt Ski Field.
As the seasons change there is so much more to offer from this little town- Opuke Thermal Pools and Spa, tramping, fishing, hunting, shopping, drinking coffee and dining on delicious meals whilst taking in the views. This really is a special place, and we would love to share it with you.

Our Location
Located in the heart of the Methven community just over an hour’s drive from Christchurch International Airport, Methven Resort features breath-taking views of Mount Hutt, 46 on-site studio rooms, a large function room, restaurant and bar, swimming pool, hot pools and numerous other activities on your doorstep. Methven Resort is the perfect setting for your special day.
Accommodation
Our accommodation comprises of 46 studio rooms over three levels, with prices starting at $140 per room, per night.
Our Penthouse package is $500, which includes two night’s accommodation in the Penthouse, and a platter for 4 guests whilst you get ready for your wedding. For themed bridal suite packages of added value, please enquire with your wedding coordinator. Otherwise, the bridal suite is $200 per night for the bride and groom.
